Samantha Teten, a University of Nebraska-Lincoln agronomy major, has been recognized as the Helena Chemical Company's 2016 Outstanding West Central Division Intern Award winner. Teten, a sophomore from Johnson, Nebraska, was selected from a competitive group of 59 interns throughout the Midwest for her outstanding performance throughout the summer where she worked as a summer sales and marketing agronomy intern at the Hutchinson, Kansas, wholesale location.
During her summer internship, Teten worked with many Helena dealer customers, positioning Helena’s proprietary product lines and managing product trials across the central Kansas market. Her internship was completed in mid-August.
Teten is advised by Department of Agronomy and Horticulture Professor Rhae Drijber.
The 2016 Helena Summer Intern class was comprised of 59 students from 23 universities across the country. The scholarship award is designed to encourage creativity and innovation among the intern team and assist with college expenses.
Benjamin Marks (Illinois State University) and Laura Toben (Iowa State University) were awarded the Midwest Division Awards; Katie Carnahan (Purdue University) received the North Central Division Award; and Sarah Kezar (Oklahoma State University) was recognized as the top intern for the Northwest Division.
