- To promote the
understanding and enhancement of rangeland resources in our area and
the world.
The UNL chapter of the Nebraska Section, Society for Range Management
is open to students interested in rangeland resources. The club promotes
student understanding of rangeland ecosystems and management of such
rangeland resources as water, wildlife habitat, and forage for grazing
livestock. The club also enhances personal and professional advancement
in the general area of natural resource management. Club members interact
with students, professionals, and other interested individuals on local,
regional, national, and international levels. Members work with elementary
schools and local organizations on natural resource-related projects,
compte nationally and internationally on exam teams, prepare oral presentations
and displays for a wide variety of audiences, attend state and international
professional meetings, and tour rangeland ecosystems throughout western
U.S. The club also facilitates application for scholarships, development
of career goals, and contact with prospective employers. Overall, the
club promotes student development toward careers in natural resource
management. The club meets every first and third Wednesday of each month
during the school year in the East Campus Union at 5:00 p.m.
