University of Nebraska Viticulture Program Studies
at James Arthur Vineyards

Weed Management Trial (see data sheet and observe the results first-hand).

Rootstock Research

Row Middle Growth Suppression Study

The Rootstock Study, initiated in 1999, involved ‘Gewurztraniner’ on six different rootstocks in three vineyards (Nemaha, Peru and James Arthur Vineyards). The study is still ongoing with ‘Gewurztraniner’ at Nemaha and Peru, but severe winter damage has dictated a makeover of the test at JAV. New cultivar/rootstock combinations are now replacing the original study, with results anticipated for observation in future years.

The Row Middle Growth Suppression Study shows minimal differences because of the dry weather (drought is a highly effective growth retardant!).
