The Jhala Weed Management Lab

Welcome to The Jhala Weed Management Lab at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Our primary goal is to provide research and extension network to clientele for weed management solutions in corn, soybean, and sorghum.

Our research includes:

  • Herbicide efficacy trials to test new and existing products for weed control and crop safety.
  • Risk assessment of multiple herbicide-resistant crops, including dicamba plus glyphosate resistant soybean (Roundup Ready 2 Xtend Soybean), 2,4-D plus glyphosate resistant corn and soybean (Enlist System), isoxaflutole-resistant soybean (Balance GT soybean), and sulfonylurea-resistant sorghum (INZEN-Z). This is an important component of our program.
  • Several experiments for integrated management of herbicide resistant weeds such as marestail, giant ragweed, common waterhemp, and Palmer amaranth in Nebraska.
