Read is highlighted in society news as horticulture legend

Tuesday, May 2, 2023

Paul Read, professor of agronomy and horticulture, was interviewed as an ASHS HortLegend by Julie Campbell, a research scientist at the University of Georgia, at the 2022 American Society for Horticultural Science annual conference in Chicago and highlighted in the April 15 issue of the ASHS E-News.

Read says he cherishes the fact that he is a Fellow of ASHS and that he has served in many roles in the society, including president and Chair of the Board. He attended his first ASHS Annual Conference in 1965 and has not missed one since.

His advice to students: “Talk to successful people, attend conferences — especially ASHS — and be active and volunteer.”
