Sixteen Department of Agronomy and Horticulture employees were honored with Employee Service Awards Sept. 28. The University of Nebraska–Lincoln honored 850 faculty and staff for their years of service to the university. The event was part of a celebratory day that featured Chancellor Ronnie Green’s State of Our University Address at the Lied Center for Performing Arts and an employee cook-out catered by Dining Services.

This year, employees were honored for achieving five-year service milestones, including 13 dedicated Huskers who have given 45, 50, and 55 years of service to Nebraska. The Department of Agronomy and Horticulture’s Charles “Chuck” Francis, professor emeritus of agronomy and horticulture, was honored for 45 years and Professor Paul Read was honored for 35 years of service.
