About Me
Alexa Cunningham is a junior at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln majoring in agronomy and minoring in soil science. In the summer of 2025, she interned for Corteva Agriscience as a seed product development intern.
Internship Responsibilities
During her internship, Cunningham was responsible for nursery maintenance, crop scouting and pollinating.
Learning Opportunities
Cunningham was able to learn about all of the experiments and tests that research stations run to help with hybrid selection. She learned what a typical day as a corn breeder looks like by experiencing the job firsthand.
Future Career Goals
After graduation, Cunningham plans to work for a crop scouting company before eventually returning to her family farm.
