About Me
Caitlin DeCoster is a senior at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln majoring in plant and landscape systems under the horticulture option with an emphasis in flowers. In the summer of 2025, she interned at Mulhall's Nursery as a shoots intern in Omaha, Nebraska.
Internship Responsibilities
Over the course of her internship, DeCoster learned the ins and outs of tree, shrub, perennial and mum production through hands-on experience.
Learning Opportunities
DeCoster learned the importance of water pH and its impact on plant nutrient uptake, as well as how fertilizer ratios and data collection play a key role in successful production.
Future Career Goals
Looking ahead, DeCoster's goal is to pursue a career in plant production and keep building on the knowledge and skills she developed in her internship.
