About Me
Evan Allberry is a junior at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln majoring in plant and landscape systems under the horticulture option. In the summer of 2025, he interned for the Grow Local Innovation Lab as a research assistant, working on UNL's East Campus in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Internship Responsibilities
Over the course of his internship, Allberry did soil testing and sampling for Nebraska Urban Soil Health Initiative, cover crops and specialty crop production.
Learning Opportunities
Allberry learned how to care for and maintain specialty crop production fields, which involved weed and pest management, proper use of small implements in the field and critical data collection for various studies.
Future Career Goals
In the future, Allberry hopes to work in local food production or specialty crop management.
