The Excellence in Extension Award is presented to a faculty member in the Department of Agronomy and Horticulture who has significantly contributed to the department’s extension mission through impactful programming and positive stakeholder outcomes. This award recognizes a faculty member who has effectively translated research into practice, supporting producers/ranchers, communities, and stakeholders with science-based, practical solutions and recommendations that improve profitability and environment.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Nominee must be a faculty member in the Department of Agronomy and Horticulture.
- Faculty who has received any outstanding service award from the Department of Agronomy and Horticulture are ineligible for three subsequent years.
- Faculty cannot receive the same award more than once in the same category.
Nomination Guideline:
- Nominator do not need to be faculty member of the Department of Agronomy and Horticulture. Self-nomination is acceptable.
- Members of the Awards Committee are not eligible to submit nominations.
- Nominations must be submitted through an online form.
Nomination Submission Guideline (maximum of 1,500 words to be submitted online):
- Nominee: Name, address, phone number, and email.
- Nominator: Name, address, phone number, and email.
- Brief description of the nominee’s Extension program including goals, objectives, accomplishments, and stakeholder impacts.
- Summary of Extension-related publications (NebGuide, Extension Circular, Crop Watch, Beef Watch, etc.) committee involvement, and leadership roles.
- Information regarding awards/honors received, mentoring activities, and additional relevant details that support the nominee’s candidacy for the Excellence in Extension Award.
