The University of Nebraska–Lincoln will confer about 3,700 degrees during commencement exercises May 16 and 17 at Pinnacle Bank Arena. Among those will be 40 undergraduate and 17 graduate students from the Department of Agronomy and Horticulture and four Grassland Systems majors.
A graduation celebration was held May 16 in the Goodding Learning Center, 280 Plant Sciences Hall, to honor agronomy and horticulture graduates earning degrees. Food and refreshments were served, followed by an introduction of each graduate and time for family and friends to celebrate and take photos.
Sheridan Wilson, a grassland systems major, will be recognized as a Chancellor’s Scholar at the undergraduate commencement ceremonies. Chancellor’s Scholars are students who have maintained 4.0 grade-point averages on all collegiate work at Nebraska and elsewhere.
The arena, 400 Pinnacle Arena Drive, will host a ceremony for students earning graduate and professional degrees, 3 p.m. May 16, and two ceremonies for those earning bachelor’s degrees, 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. May 17. Doors open to the public at 1:30 p.m. May 16 and 7:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. May 17.
Chancellor Rodney D. Bennett will preside over the ceremonies.
