The University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s East Campus Discovery Days and Farmers Market will be held 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 14, with additional dates on July 12 and Aug. 9.
Discovery Days will once again feature a robust farmers market, live music, food trucks, the Botanical Garden and Arboretum, and Backyard Farmer Garden. The UNL Rodeo Club is also set to make an appearance Aug. 9. Discovery Days also includes exhibits and activities from local science clubs and Nebraska 4-H, robotics, and arts and crafts.
The Department of Agronomy and Horticulture has two activity stations planned for its booth on June 14. Research Technologist Aldi Airori will host the Kids’ Soil Profile in collaboration with the Agronomy and Horticulture Graduate Student Association. The Precision Application Technology Lab will host the other station. Each group will have a table with demonstrations and/or activities for all ages. Terri James, associate extension educator, and Nebraska Extension Master Gardener volunteers will provide tours and answer questions in the East Campus Backyard Farmer Garden.
Department of Agronomy and Horticulture faculty, staff, or students interested in volunteering for the department booth should contact Connie Hansen.
