Kaye Wolfe, digital support associate and office professionals team lead in agronomy and horticulture, was honored with the department’s Special Contributions Award by the Staff Advisory Committee on Dec. 15 at the department Staff Appreciation Luncheon.

The semiannual award recognizes department staff who go above and beyond in their job duties in a way that greatly benefits the department and/or the university.

“Kaye is solutions-oriented and always seeking to make department life as easy as possible for faculty, staff and students,” Sam Wortman, associate professor in agronomy and horticulture, said. Her welcoming smile, positive attitude and inclusive values are assets to the departmental culture and go a long way in recruiting and retaining personnel.”

Wolfe has been working for the department for almost four years as she coordinates work with department administration, faculty and students. She helps with Canvas, Concur and is the project assistant for the “Guide for Weed, Disease, and Insect Management in Nebraska,” a yearly extension publication.

“Kaye is an exceptional human being, both professionally and as a person,” Jose Cesario, a doctoral student in agronomy and horticulture, said. “She always goes above and beyond her duties to help the grad students and professors. She makes our department a better place to work.”

Wolfe was raised on a farm south of Clay Center, Nebraska, and earned a bachelor’s degree in animal science from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.

Wolfe says she enjoys being with family, camping and cheering on Husker athletics with her husband.
