Shilu Dahal is a doctoral candidate in Plant Pathology at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in Clemencia Rojas’s lab. Her research integrates microbiology, genomics, and metabolomics to identify novel antimicrobial compounds from beneficial bacteria for sustainable crop diseases management. She is a recipient of multiple research awards, the lead PI on a federally funded project, and a co-inventor on a U.S. patent related to microbial biocontrol. Dahal is passionate about translating fundamental science into real-world agricultural solutions and enjoys science communication and outreach.
