Bruce Anderson, University of Nebraska–Lincoln professor of agronomy and horticulture and Extension forage specialist, was honored for 40 years of service at the Sept. 18 universitywide Celebration of Service event held at the Coliseum. 26 other department employees ranging from five to 35 years of service to the university were also honored.
Chancellor Ronnie Green honored 969 university employees and presented awards to employees who have served 45 and 50 years at Nebraska.
“Our community is one of 6,500 faculty and staff who work hard every day to deliver on our mission of enthusiasm and heart,” Green said. “This event is an opportunity to celebrate the talent and dedication of our people.”
The celebration included a historic overview by Rick Alloway, associate professor of broadcasting.
An All-University Picnic was served following the celebration.
The annual awards are presented for employment in five-year intervals. Employees received awards for five to 50 years.
