- Nitrogen fertilizer is necessary for increased crop yields and farmer profitability.
- It is possible to increase nitrogen-use efficiency (NUE) without yield and/or profit losses
- Nebraska corn growers have improved nitrogen-use efficiency over the last 50 years, but there is still room for improvement to reduce environmental concerns
- No tool exists to help growers evaluate NUE in corn production and provide cost-effective solutions to make improvements
OUR PROJECT

Project Summary
Our goal is to provide Nebraska corn growers with actionable information to improve their NUE and profitability. To do this, we have developed a digital nitrogen dashboard to diagnose and improve current NUE leveraging on NRD grower-reported data and Nebraska On-Farm Research Network trial data collected over the past 30 years.
