The Nebraska Extension Weed Management Field Day is held each summer at South Central Ag Lab near Clay Center. Organized by Amit Jhala, Extension Weed Management Specialist, topics vary each year.
Nebraska Crop Production Clinics
Nebraska Crop Production Clinics, held each January across Nebraska, feature research updates and information tailored to regional crop issues and grower interests. Session topics will include crop production, soil management, water management, agribusiness management, pesticide and environmental safety, pest management, pesticide application technology, cover crops, forages and agricultural technology. Pesticide applicator recertification training and Certified Crop Advisor credits are also available.
Nebraska 4Rs Nutrient Stewardship Field Day
This event features knowledge and tools to improve nutrient management, soil health, crop yields and water quality. This is a great opportunity to learn about 4Rs strategies to improve crop yield and profits while protecting the environment. Organized by Javed Iqbal, Extension Specialist and Assistant Professor of Agronomy.
Nebraska Turfgrass Field Day
The one-day in-person field day is focused on providing information, from professional turfgrass managers to homeowners. This includes current research, technical, and continuing education for turfgrass management at and around the University of Nebraska-Lincoln East Campus Turf Research Center in Lincoln.
Nebraska Flame Weeding Workshop
The Nebraska Flame Weeding Workshop will present research of proper weed flaming used to control over ten major Midwestern weeds in seven agronomic crops – field corn, sweet corn, popcorn, soybean, sorghum, sunflower and wheat.

Nebraska Range Short Course
The Nebraska Range Short Course is designed to provide people who have backgrounds in range management, natural resources, or agriculture an opportunity to increase their knowledge and capacity in the field of range management. Consisting of a series of classroom and field sessions, it focuses on principles of range management for efficient, sustainable use of rangeland for multiple purposes.
