Bailey Ahlberg joined the Department of Agronomy and Horticulture Feb. 21 as the office supervisor. She will oversee the Office Professionals team by delegating tasks to provide whatever office assistance is needed by department staff, faculty and students, or visiting scholars.

Ahlberg holds Associate of Applied Science degrees in culinary hospitality management and in business, both from Southeast Community College. After earning her culinary hospitality degree, Ahlberg was hired by the Great Plains Culinary Institute at SECC to open a coffee shop on campus. She held this role for two years.

“I love working in an academic setting,” Ahlberg said. “Because this is a new field for me, I am consistently excited for opportunities to meet new people and expand my skills and knowledge. Surrounding myself with people who are here to learn and be a part of a community inspires me to do the same.”

Describing herself as a lifelong learner, Ahlberg intends to continue her education in hospitality management, digital media marketing, sustainability management, women’s studies and organizational performance.

Originally from Lincoln, Ahlberg has been collecting PEZ dispensers since she was very young. Her collection now totals over 750 unique dispensers.
