Area of Focus

Woody plant invasion, grassland conservation

Research Interests

I study ecosystem management with a focus on working lands conservation. I use concepts from resilience theory, landscape ecology, invasion biology, and ecosystem service science to better understand how land management can improve environmental outcomes. My current research centers around woody plant encroachment and large-scale grassland conservation. I work directly with producers, NGOs, state and federal agencies, and other scientists to develop scalable strategies for grassland conservation.
