Nebraska Crops Team takes third at Oklahoma Panhandle State University Wednesday, March 7, 2018
The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Intercollegiate Crops Judging Team competed in the Regional Crops Judging Contest on Feb. 10 at Oklahoma Panhandle State University and placed third in the four-year division against 15 other Midwest four-year and two-year institutions.

He is advised by Amit Jhala, assistant professor of agronomy and horticulture and Nebraska Extension weed specialist.

Andrea Basche joined the University of Nebraska–Lincoln Department of Agronomy and Horticulture Dec. 1 as an assistant professor in cropping systems. She will be teaching two undergraduate courses in crop management and researching opportunities for Nebraska cropping systems to remain productive and profitable into the future.

Presented annually, the honors provide positive feedback to faculty and staff about their work with students. Forty undergraduate students in the Department of Agronomy and Horticulture qualified for the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, Fall 2017, Dean’s list. Students must have a 3.75 minimum grade-point average on a four-point scale and be enrolled in a minimum of 12 or more graded semester hours to qualify. Juan Ignacio Rattalino Edreira joined the University of Nebraska–Lincoln Department of Agronomy and Horticulture Jan. 9, 2016, as a postdoctoral researcher and became a research assistant professor June 1, 2017. Rattalino grew up on a crop and livestock farm in the Argentinean Pampas.
