The University of Nebraska–Lincoln Crops Judging Team took top honors at the North American Colleges and Teachers of Agriculture Judging Conference National Collegiate Competition at Northeast Community College in Norfolk, Nebraska, April 19 and 21.

56 earn degrees in May Wednesday, May 9, 2018
The University of Nebraska–Lincoln conferred a record 3,223 degrees during commencement exercises May 4 and 5 at Pinnacle Bank Arena and the Lied Center for Performing Arts. The graduates were from 60 countries, 45 states and the District of Columbia, and 250 Nebraska communities. Fifty-six graduates from the Department of Agronomy and Horticulture were invited to participate.

Pi Alpha Xi Alpha-Gamma chapter inducts 350th member Monday, May 7, 2018
Pi Alpha Xi, the national horticulture honor society, inducted new members and elected officers April 14 in Plant Sciences Hall on the University of Nebraska–Lincoln East Campus. The Nebraska chapter, Alpha-Gamma, began in 1982, and this year, inducted their 350th member.

Clint Beiermann, a University of Nebraska–Lincoln agronomy doctoral student specializing in weed science, received second place in the Weeds of Agronomic Crops Graduate Student Paper Contest at the Western Society of Weed Science Annual Meeting in Garden Grove, California March 12-15. He also received an Elena Sanchez Memorial WSWS Outstanding Student Scholarship.

Nebraska faculty mentor Rwandan scholars Tuesday, April 24, 2018
For Gloria Mwiseneza and other Rwandan scholars, the summer of 2017 was filled with new opportunities and hands-on learning about agronomy and horticulture. Mwiseneza is one of 105 Rwandan students who, as of Aug. 17, 2017, have received a scholarship and are currently participating in the University of Nebraska–Lincoln College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources Undergraduate Scholarship Program.
