Sutton to retire after 43 years of teaching, research Friday, June 29, 2018
Richard Sutton
Richard Sutton, professor of agronomy and horticulture and the program in landscape architecture, will retire June 30 after 43 years at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. Sutton began his career at Nebraska in 1975 with a teaching appointment in what was then the Department of Horticulture. He was promoted to full professor in 2008 and held teaching and research appointments in the Department of Agronomy and Horticulture.

30 Agronomy and Horticulture students make Dean's List Wednesday, June 6, 2018
Thirty Department of Agronomy and Horticulture students made the CASNR Dean’s List for the spring semester 2018. Students must complete 12 credit hours of course work (courses must be started and completed in one semester) by the census date of the grade reports and attain a minimum semester GPA of 3.75.

A ‘Golden Opportunity’ for Husker agronomy students Friday, June 1, 2018
University of Nebraska–Lincoln agronomy students Michaela Cunningham, Rodger Farr, Kolby Grint and Samantha Teten were awarded scholarships in May by the American Society of Agronomy, Crop Science Society of America, and Soil Science Society of America. Cunningham, Farr and Grint were awarded Golden Opportunity (GO) Scholarships and Teten a Greenfield Scholarship.

Hintz receives Disney Agricultural Internship Tuesday, May 29, 2018
Benjamin Hintz, a University of Nebraska–Lincoln Department of Agronomy and Horticulture student, received a six-month Disney Agricultural Internship in Orlando, Florida. Hintz graduated in May with a bachelor's of science in agronomy with minors in horticulture, Engler Entrepreneurship and math.

Blanco receives Nebraska Environmental Trust grant for soil ecosystem research Thursday, May 24, 2018
Humberto Blanco, University of Nebraska–Lincoln associate professor of Agronomy and Horticulture, is in the third year of leading a project titled “Enhancing Soil Ecosystem Services with Cover Crops” with funding provided by the Nebraska Environmental Trust. Co-investigators include Sabrina Ruis, postdoctoral research associate, Richard Ferguson, agronomy and horticulture professor and interim department head, and Paul Jasa, extension engineer in Nebraska’s Biological Systems Engineering department.
