Grassland Studies seminar series begins Sept. 17 Tuesday, September 11, 2018
The Center for Grassland Studies will begin its 24th annual fall seminar series with a lecture by Dirac Twidwell Jr., an associate professor in the Department of Agronomy and Horticulture who will speak about modern challenges in environmental science from 3 to 4 p.m. Sept. 17 in the Nebraska East Union. The talk, “Transforming Range Curriculum in the 21st Century,” is free and open to the public.

Martha Mamo has been named head of the Agronomy and Horticulture Department at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, effective Jan. 1, 2019. Mamo currently serves as interim associate department head and Weaver Professor of Agronomy and Horticulture.

Harvest demo draws hop hopefuls Monday, August 27, 2018
Burgeoning interest in the Cornhusker State’s craft brewing industry poured into the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s hop yard on Aug. 24. Tapping into a harvest demonstration organized by the university’s Nebraska Hops program, more than 20 individuals learned the basics of growing or supporting production of the pinecone-like blooms used primarily to flavor craft beer.
